Lets see some videos. Lets not have any lists, dont put in 3 or 4 different goals. Just pick 1 goal that for you, is better than all the others. This is mine, everything about it is perfect. The technique required to do this is just out of this world.

How can ya have Rooney's in there? It was a great goal sure, but there is well better volleys than that in the premiership, taylor vs everton, scholes vs villa, nolan vs blackburn to name but a slight few. Or how about Zidane's in the CL Final. Anyways im not sure if this is my favourite goal or not but whenever im asked that question this is the one I always think of...

Was about to say the same myself. A volley from the edge of the box. Joke if yout think that's the best ever - although I think you posted this thread to get a reaction. I mean if even you put that above Messi's for Barca earlier this year, let alone all the great goals that have been scored, you're a bit short sighted.

Carlos' against Tenerife is pretty damn amazing - particulalry because he meant it.

Always loved Cassano for Bari against Inter for some reason.

Also Herny's turn and shoot against Man U.

For me it would have to be Jimmy Glass's goal for Carlisle just down to the sheer ludicrously of it. Emergency on-loan goalie with a 93rd minute volley to keep Carlisle in the Football league with the last kick of the season

One word - Rivaldo!

Bergkamps and Van Basten (and Maradonnas) have to be amongst the best goals ever, but one game/performance/goal I had the privilege of seeing in its entirety on tv was Barcelone v Valencia, last fixture of the 2001 season and Barca had to win to get a CL spot.

The hat trick Rivaldo scored is unsurpassed for me, especially in terms of the quality of each goal, the value of the win, and the quality of opposition.

But to answer the OPs question of individual goal, well its obviously the overhead kick from 18 yards with 90 secs remaining! :eek:

Maybe this should also be in a thread "Best individual performance ever"?

I can actually remember shouting out in the pub that this was the best goal id ever seen. Maxi Rodriguez vs Mexico in the 2006 world cup, i think Rooney's is slightly better though.

MY #1 goal of all time was a couple of years ago, astroturf full pitch, picked it up on the edge of my box bet 5-6 and rounded the keeper..easy!!:D

Really, if you didn't want it to seem a bit daft then have a think about it.

I could easily have said something about anyone who posted Bergkamps goals but i didnt because unfortunately, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.
