    Hello,

Not sure exactly what the manifold is but my garage advise me that the manifold is cracked and will have to be replaced. They are currently organising a quote. Anyone know a ball park figure i am likey to be charged for a replacement manifold ?

Your car has two manifolds - one for intake and one for exhaust. They are, essentially, the ducts that divide the single intake air pipe into four separate pipes - one for each cylinder, and then converge the four separate cylinder exhausts in to one exhaust pipe.

A cracked manifold is unusual. The most common cause of a cracked manifold (especially exhaust) is overtightening on reassembly after a job such as a cylinder head gasket replacement.

I'd be interested to know which manifold is cracked, what the symptoms were, and whether or not you had any recent work done to the engine.
