Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jimmy Magee is trying his best to spoil the game with a series of appalling cliches and clever politics-graduate jargon. He is more intent on using clever phrases than he is in actually commentating on the game. A top commentator knows when to shut up. Same goes for ITV's Peter Drury.

Thought Kenny Cunningham was quite decent as a co-commentator. Quite prefer him to analysing where I can't see his eyebrows and says "possibly so" every 5 seconds. I like Ray Houghton - he seems to have a bit of passion in his commentating. Kinsella has been an utter dullard.

Dunphy has been his usual entertaining self, Giles is a bit slow to answer questions sometimes but is generally fine and Brady is the realist. Souness is a welcome addition since the last World Cup but does anyone think he is not the same when Dunphy isn't there? Ronnie Whelan - I wish he could be a bit more specific in his analysis and use more than 3 syllables to describe something. "he is a good passer of the ball" "he has good feet" etc etc.

Bump! So what did Billo and the boys talk about when the pictures died?

The beeb went to the fivelive feed, which they kept the second time even when the pix were back, for longer than they needed (and it was much better than Motty/Lauro).

    Mike.

Bill, talking about Mertesacker and Metzelder, " they call them the twin towers". Bill, seconds later, and they're getting destroyed just like .......

I think he realised what he was about to say, and I think he stopped just in time, but the analysis last night was brilliant, during the black out of the game. Liam to Eamon " commmentate there Eamon".

And Giles with the cracker, just as coverage resumed, " I think its because of the Lisbon treaty".

    funny sh1t

Was RTE commentery even further out of sync with the live action than normal after the storms and interruptions??
BBC was freaking wrecking my head telling you what was happening before it even happened! Had to turn off the sound (which was no harm considering it was Motson and Lawro.....I tried changing to 5 live but they were as bad for being ahead of the action)
