Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anybody know the best way to get from Lucan(or Palmerstown/Chapolizid) to Ballyfermot on the bus? Not a route I am familiar with at all.

25/A from Lucan to Palmerstown and then the 18 from Kennelsfort Road to Ballyfermot.

Here's the 18 timetable. The stops are listed at the bottom of the page :)

There could be a direct bus but this is the one I used to get.

The new route 151 from Adamstown will leave you at the very edge of Ballyfermot where the Kylemore Road meets the Long Mile Road but its fair walk to centre of Ballyfermot. Handy for Royal Liver Retail Park though.

Also 25A + 18 could take an hour or more in traffic - it can take 30 mins just to get to Palmerstown in bad traffic and factor in the wait for the 18 and traffic on the Kennelsfort road - whereas if you were in a position to cycle you could do it in 20-30 mins depending on which side of Lucan you start from.

Yeah cycling is an option but:

    1. I hate cyclists, for no real reason!
    2. I wouldn't like going into work sweating like a peado in a Barney suit.

Maybe i'll just have to take the car.

What part of Ballyfermot are you going to? The 26 goes through Palmerstown/Chapelizod and finishes up at Cherry Orchard Hospital.

Theres no need to get two buses, just get the 25a, when you pass by the West County hotel on the way into Chapo, get off the bus. Then you can walk up the hill under the bridge. This road is actually the start of the kylemore road.

Might be handier depending on what area of ballyer your going to.

^ Only really handy for the college though. I did the above for getting to Kylemore Industrial Park, but ended up switching to getting the 66+ the 18. The 25 is even shorter than getting the 66, there was barely any traffic on the 18 route, it was just the 66 getting through Lucan that made it drag on, and if the OP is getting on in Lucan, problem solved.
