(Thanks) It’s the girl friend’s birthday in a few weeks and I want to take her away over night in a nice hotel, nothing huge but some place where we can get a nice dinner and have a few drinks after words. It’s the girl friend’s birthday in a few weeks and I want to take her away over night in a nice hotel, nothing huge but some place where we can get a nice dinner and have a few drinks after words. A nice place for a walk would also be great and nothing miles away from Limerick? Any ideas??

The rooms in the george on o'connell street are supposed to be lovely and it's lynch hotels so it's very reasonable.

Yea, the George Boutique hotel is right in the city centre on Shannon Street, just off the main O'Connell Street. The rooms are nice and it has a nice enough restaurant (for a hotel anyway) and is central to city nightlife:

The new Marriott hotel is just around the corner on Henry Street if you want to treat yourselves to 5 star:

The Clarion Hotel is also close by and has a nice view of the river Shannon and city. The food is also nice in there.

What would be a rough guide to your budget? There are some nice hotels down in Kinsale that would be perfect for a romantic night or two away.

Lovely spots around there for walks, quaint little town, great little restuarants, and that harbour to look at.

Dromoland Castle out towards Ennis is a nice hotel and the grounds are great for a walk, they also have a golf course. Less than 30 mins drive from the city:

There are a few nice hotels outside Limerick. Try Bunratty Manor in Bunratty, about half hours drive from Limerick, lovely walking in Bunratty and the restaurant there is well nice. There are other hotels in Bunratty also you could try out.

Hi superwoody,check out the ross hotel just been recently refurbished nice spot sure you could find plenty to do there during the day too...its right in the centre too...the bar and restaurant are real nice too http://www.theross.ie/

The Manor is more of a guesthouse than a hotel but has an excellent reputation for food. Other hotels in Bunratty are the Shamrock and the Bunratty Castle Hotel.

That looks great, not stayed in many hotels so I'm not sure if the price is any good... Going in July (The Master Roman Theme room,2 Day Break: 2 B&B plus 1 Dinner, Price €295.00) is this a good price??

Try a few other places around and compare. The food is lovely in the Lake and the service is excellent.

I have been to the Lake Hotel twice, lovely hotel and great views. Jacuzzi baths in the rooms are just brilliant can't tell you about the food in the restaurant as we didn't leave the room

If moneys not an issue i'd go to The Lodge, Doonbeg..v.expensive but unbelieveable and romantic. Got a present of a night here and we had an amazing time. If Carlsberg did hotels..

I would highly recommend the Muckross Park Hotel in in Killarney. Fantastic hotel and service with a great spa.
