Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

OK. There seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people here. So I'm not doing the PGDE in UCD this September (couldn't find a placement). I'm now looking for a Celta course to do. I really want to go abroad and do it for the 4 weeks or whatever it is. The cost in Dublin is €1400 (free accommodation etc) and Palermo €1785 (plus accommodation etc) [http://www.ihpalermo.com/node/216?lang=eng].

Does anybody know any place worth doing it in that is actually cheaper that Ireland or even the same price when accommodation is put in? A place where I could stay on and teach after would be even better.

    Thanks.

PS: Couldn't find much info at all online about this.

When I was doing my PGDE in UCD ('06-07) there were plenty of people that didn't have a placement by the time the course started. The Education department rang around and found schools for these people. I wouldn't give up on the course yet - and it will stand to you in the long-term as a teacher.

My advice would be to not do a CELTA course at all... Do a CELT, which is as rececognsed but is alot cheaper as it is Dept of Ed certified as opposed to Cambridge University... Average price would be 900-1000
