Just to let anyone with Smart Broadband know that they plan to introduce an extra €2 charge for itemised billing from next month. If you get an itemised bill from Smart (where every call listed, not just summaries) and don't want to pay the charge you need to post in the Bill Itemisation Amendments thread on their support forum. Make sure you include your phone number in your forum profile.

All Smart customers are being told about the extra charge by way of a leaflet in their bill. But the way the leaflet explains how to avoid the charge doesn't work. There's no option in the Smart customer online account system to opt out of this charge. Smart say it's a bug in their online customer accounts system. So for now anyone who wants to avoid the charge must post on the above thread instead.

If you're not with Smart yourself, please tell anyone you know who is with Smart about how they can avoid this extra charge.

Just a quick update and bump for this. Smart have now changed their online accounts system to include an option that let's users opt out of itemised billing. If you want to opt out and save €2 per month, log on to your MySmart account online. Under the Account Options section, on the right hand side, click Change My Info. Untick the Itemised Billing box and click the Change button. You'll still get a paper bill, but with no call itemisation, only call summaries.

    Many thanks for that, Oracle.

I had posted to the relevant thread about two weeks ago, and see that the box was still checked just now.

EDIT: Maybe it was done manually however.
