    Can someone please help me?

I have to buy a 7-seater as my wife is pregnant with our 4th. child.

I'm looking at a 2007 hand Mitsubishi Outlander.

My question is should I buy one now in Dublin or import one from Northern Ireland after July.

What's the situation with the VRT?

Head to the Motors forum. We're fountains of knowledge over there:D!

To answer your question, you should buy here. Used car sales are on the floor at the moment, meaning that dealers should bend over backwards to try and get you to buy something off them, cause a lot of used cars out there have been there since the start of the year. The VRT on the Outlander is only changing by a small amount anyway. It is a 4X4 after all, and they're not exactly noted for frugality or being good at CO2(even though the Outlander will be one of the few 4X4s to see a fall in VRT from July).

Realistically a midi MPV will be kinder to the planet as well as being cheaper to buy and run, as well as quieter, faster and better to drive as well. Something like a Ford S-Max or an Opel Zafira would be much smarter choices IMO.

You could choose a 7 seater estate car such as from volvo, mercedes or audi. Might be out of your price range.

there is no such thing as an audi or volvo 7 seat estate car is there? Pretty sure there isn't a merc either. The only 7 seaters any of them have are big 4x4s. So not much help there OTK

    The V70 has/had an 7 seat option.

Theres a fair few estates that are around in 7 seaters. Not sure if they are all factory fits or aftermarket. The Laguna 1 had a kit but I think it was aftermarket. Could be just some company that knocks them up.

Pretty sure the V70 is aftermarket? i.e you can't buy it from Volvo as a 7 seater?

TBH I'd have to check but any I've seen the back seats seem to match the interior, whereas others have a different look about them.

Volvo always offered a 7 seater option for their large estates. Dunno if they do that for the latest V70 though.

with 4 kids none of those cars will last a whole lot of time as they grow up. You realistically need a full size MPV

He might not even need to go to the full size. The Corrolla Verso/Scenic/C4 segment woul ddo.
We regularly use the missus Grand Scenic to transport 3 kinds and 4 adults (2 car seats and a booster )

They stopped offering the 7 seater V70's this year I think (or late last year).

My apologies, I thought that there were 7 seater estates from merc, audi and volvo but I must be wrong. Sorry for being unhelpful.
