Iv just seen the tabs for the intro bit and it looks like a reversed progression of No Leaf Clover!

The verse is a A minor progression aswell and Dont Fear the Reaper is A minor also.

Some people are saying its standard?? I dunno though because since James blew his voice they mostly recorded in Eb so his voice doesnt sound totally blown.

It is in Standard, not Eb - works cleaner in standard, cos I thought it was Eb too, but the CMaj-A5-GMaj progression from the main verse is pretty clearcut.

That's what I thought it was too???? I think the video has a war setting, which is why an earlier poster brought up "One". The video should be on Youtube shortly, I'd say.

A little starter in the right direction for those not in possession of an uber ear-to-hand gift when it comes to noodling on the trusty axe

oh, it is all in standard EADBGE tuning also.

The treble/middle/bass settings are funny ..... I think there maybe a strat/telecaster in there somewhere, cos I can't seem to dial down to the level of treble across any of my gear

ok bassline is fairly tidy on this one, not as much fun as the Cyanide bass parts - but still, you'll have fun any bass players out there. I can see potential for the 8/8 section in it for aspiring finger-thrashers of the 4 or 5 string beasts to go abso-frickin-lutely mental LOL

my fingers hurt like a mofo now :-(

i am well and truly impressed. i thought cyanide was excellent and now having heard this i'm well and truly stoked about the new album. interesting that a lot of non-metallica fans seem to be liking this.

yep. lyrics. yep. still awful. the only thing likeable about this song are the maidenesque harmony guitars (not the one at the beginning, they sound more like a metallica wannabe band trying and failing....and i've heard a lot and been in a few in my time)

NOTHING in this song made me go :eek: or

metalica are not "back" their production has just improved (which wasnt hard)
