Physics Hooke's Law and Simple Harmonic Motion Formulae Derivations!!

    1.Hookes Law:

    according to hookes law, the restoring force is directly proportional to the displacement,

    so that means that F ><> s

    => F = -ks
    where k is the constant.the minus sign can be ignored in calculations since it represents the direction only.

    2. Simple Harmonic Motion.

    To derive a = -(w^2)(s)

    From Hooke's Law,

    F= -ks

    => ma = -ks (since F=ma)

    => a = -(k/m)(s)

    => a = -w^2 s (where w^2 = k/m)
