I'd be interested in joining this. I think 4 days is maybe not enough time to get that book read so I'll probably wait until the next one :).

    Hi everyone,

Turnout last night was disappointing so we're thinking theres not much point setting a date for next month :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 Babette

That's a pity. I only found this thread a few days ago so didn't have time to read the book before last night. I would be interested if it continues next month.

    Hey all,
Is this book club still up and running? I'd love to join in!

  • Registered Users Posts: 53 ✭✭nimrodsson

Hi - i'd love to join too. I can appreciate it might be a bit frustrating to the orginal organisers if attedendce is low... but perhaps we should all give it another try?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 posie

Hi, are people still interested in this? If the orginal posters aren't still around, maybe we could still try to revive?

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,065 ✭✭✭✭Malice

I'm definitely still interested. Now, who wants to take charge if none of the original book club members are still interested?

Maybe we could figure out an evening that suit people and go from there? Personally, I cant do weekends but something like a Tuesday or Wednesday night would be perfect. As for venue, maybe a quietish pub like the Spalpin Fanach?
Anyone else have any preferences or suggestions? :)

That sounds like a good start. Just to be awkward, Tuesdays and Wednesdays don't suit me as I play indoor soccer on Tuesday and Tag Rugby on Wednesday.

    Sounds like a good call.

How's the 25th for everyone as a possible start date?

sounds like a plan :) venue?

  • Registered Users Posts: 53 ✭✭nimrodsson

    Sounds good!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,413 ✭✭✭TeletextPear

I was thinking maybe the Spalpin Fanach for venue, just because any time I've been there it's been fairly quiet (and it has a roaring fire :D) but I'm fairly new to Cork and wouldnt know too many venues so if anyone has any other suggestions I'm all ears!

Thursdays suit me anyway. TeletextPear do you have an address for the Spalpin Fanach? Google maps isn't bringing up anything.

Spalpin Fanach is on South Main St, search for Beamish Brewery on Google maps. The Spalpin is just across the road from it.
