Ive convinced a few mates to come with me to this

Could someone suggest a moderately priced hotel nearby?
(yeah I checked online but wanted some input from here before booking. Im putting my days of hostels behind me)

It's going on in the D4 hotel, if you mention the convention i think you get a special price, worth a check

Quick question; I've only been to one of these conventions before - the Amsterdam tattoo convention last year, which ruled, got a nice french polynesian style one done by chime - for this sort of thing, if you were thinking of getting a relatively large tattoo done and were hoping for someone well known - do you contact them via email before hand or just show up first thing in the morning on the first day and wander around hoping for the best (that worked for me in Holland but I can't be lucky all the time!)

This looks good. I've never been to a Tatt con before. I've wanted to get one for years, might take the leap.

do artists charge for doing pieces at conventions.... and if they do, would they be cheaper

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,183 ✭✭✭✭Will

of course they charge, they've to pay for a stall at the event. It's a business after all, if anything they're more expensive

You'd be looking at somewhere between 80-100 euro, more for the very well established artists. If you want some advice, never let price come into it when deciding to get something in your skin thats all but permanent. Very rarely is a bargain tattoo a good thing.

Anyone know if there are more artists to be announced? Theres only around 38 or so on the Bodyshock site.

    hi folks,

any idea (in terms of artists confirmed) if there are any who specialise in portraits?

if there is anyone who people can recommend Im thinking of booking them. tbh, i know the irish artists who are good, i just thought if there are any good intl people coming for the convention who are decent at portraits i cud book em.

No clue about the foreign artist's coming, would have to check their respective sites (i added link to bodyshock's page which has links and email addresses to each artist's homepage
