    Dear CuLT

I formally request that you return the functionality of the DHTML menu back to it's immediate "pre-CuLT" state. That is, once you CTRL+CLICK on a menu option that the menu remains open.

Forcing someone important like me to make an extra mouse movement and extra click operation is unfair and frankly rude.

    Yours,

    Senior Del Wheago De Fugo

get a three buttoned mouse. it stays open that way and it results in one less finger movement too!

The answer to this query may well require the use of one, possibly two fingers.

    ;)

Might want to return your mouse because it only has one button.

or else, if it's not your mouse... then it's your mac so return it because it's a piece of wafer thin shít. ;)

I fix things without even doing anything.

That is why boards.ie employs me. My mere presence has a healing effect on computer hardware and software.

Indeed you have learned well young padwan.

I always love looking at an "issue" for someone which magically goes away as soon as they mention it to me.

Can you try doing that again? The annoyance has returned....

Can't replicate this problem; what browser are you using?

Edit: also for this sort of stuff I like people to use the Development forum, just for future reference :)

    *reminds you to update*

I'm using FF3 (gold), no issue.

I'm using FF3 gold and when I Ctrl + Click on an option, the menu closes.

I never Ctrl+Click on an option, but all the same....

How 'bout if you clear the cache and try again? Old version of the menu javascript might still be sitting on your disk. All I can think of that would cause an inconsistency like that.

    Yeah, still not workin.

And I just realised how much I hate clearing my cache.

I should really write important stuff down....

Well guys I don't know, perhaps you both have some firefox plugin installed that's causing it? You're both fellow Interbutters, if you can figure out what it might be, I can try fix it!

    ( seamus I just meant Ctrl+F5 :/ )

Well, I have a multitude of plugins installed, and I'm not going messing with them just because GS is too cheap to buy a mouse with a wheel ;)

Ah yeah, clear cache/Ctrl+F5, what's the difference.

What I actually did was my own fault, not the cache-clearing bit's :)

I resemble that remark. I actually use a Logitech MX1000 - so no shortage of buttons. But you shouldn't be relying on hardware to fix a software problem!

1 user + problem + simple workaround = No problem at all.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,077 ✭✭✭parasite

same problem here, It was awful handy to be able to open all your starred subbed forums with a couple of clicks :(

  • Subscribers Posts: 9,716 ✭✭✭CuLT

Sorry guys, right now it's a compromise between Opera users not being able to use the menu at all and you bring able to Ctrl+<click> rather than <middleclick>/<rightclick>+<leftclick>.

I consider this to be very much in the "can we get this in cornflour blue?" category of Fight Club technical issues.

I'm having trouble with the drop down menu in threads.
If there's a youtube video embedded, it supercedes the menu.

    FF3.

I have submitted to the will of the people and configured my mouse in line with Boards.ie Best Practice.

    This is a dark day.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
