    Hey,

I'm looking to get a new bike shortly, a trek 1.5.

I've a question in regards frame size, I'm 6ft and have an inside leg measurement of 33 inches.

This which puts me at either a 56 or 58 frame size from the outline below. My question is this - which would I be better off going with. (Also I'm well past my "growing age" so that doesn't really play a part!:o)

What Size Am I?FrameInside Length LegHeightS/5226-28"5'5-5'7"M/5428-30"5'7-5'9"L/5630-33"5'9-6'0"XL/5833-35"6'0-6'2"
Also what's the best price I can hope to get on a new trek 1.5? Is 900e standard or can lower be found?

    Many thanks,

    72oo

Best thing to do is get into a shop and sit on both size frames and see which is best. I'm 6'3" and ride a 58, if that's any help.

As Raam says, best try them out first in a shop. You have to buy Trek through a dealer anyway, you can't get them online. Pricing tends to be pretty standardised on Irish RRP unless you can pick up a last year's model.

I'm 6'0" and I fit perfectly on a 58cm Trek 5000. I have gone through measurement formulas that put me at 57cm exactly so I would probably fit on either. Best try them both out and see what you are most comfortable with, some like the frame smaller or larger.

I'd suggest Joe Daly's in Dundrum as an excellent shop and Trek dealer.

    And I'm 6' and comfortably on a 56! :)

im in joe dalys a bit and you never see many treks in there. for alot of more expensive bikes they have to order them in for you.

also are you planning on going to a shop, using their time and their advice and then going to get the bike somwhere else?

You don't have to buy from the first place you visit.

They also have lots of bikes down in the basement.

Bear in mind that different manufacturers size quite differently; my Focus 58cm certainly feels bigger than my Trek 58cm did; I imagine I would certainly fit as well on 56cm on a Focus (maybe better, must ask Tiny for a try on his.) But best is to try them out and see.

Joe Daly's have plenty of Treks, it's the main brand they do, especially in road bikes (and they specialise in road bikes.)
