    hi,

Unfortunetly i have been off work this week sick (flued up). i am due to go to the doctor this afternoon to get treatment and a sick note for work.

I am due to fly out to italy with aer lingus tomarrow for the weekend, but that looks pretty unlikely now. i can cancel my hotel without being penalised.

if i am to make an insurance claim for loss of flights (about €250) due to illness, do i have to cancel the flights before the scheduled departure time. Or is this required in order to process my claim??

Only your insurer can confirm that - these things can vary.
