Heather Couper is an astrophysicist. She ran the Greenwich Planetarium, and was president of the British Astronomical Association and a professor of astronomy, and produced the TV programs Universe and Electric Skies. She is often regarded as the female version of Sir Patrick Moore. On 2 June 1999 the International Astronomical Union named asteroid number 3922 "Heather" in her honour. Heather’s latest project is to write and present a 30-part series for Radio 4 on the history of astronomy. Cosmic Quest, airs every weekday for six weeks at 15:45 BST from 26 May, with a one-hour Omnibus edition on Friday evenings at 21:00. She is past-President of both the British Astronomical Association and the Society for Popular Astronomy. Heather is also Astronomy columnist for The Independent and BBC Focus magazine, and has been a member of the Millennium Commission - where she persuaded her colleagues to spend lottery money on building science centres.

Nigel Henbest is a consultant to both the Royal Greenwich Observatory and New Scientist magazine. He is also an internationally acclaimed science populariser specialising in astronomy and space. His 36 books and over 1000 articles have been translated into 27 languages, while his TV productions have gained awards both in Britain and in the US. Nigel and Heather Couper co founded PIONEER PRODUCTIONS, one of the UK’s top 30 independent TV production companies, specialising in factual and scientific programming. His screen credits include BBC Television, Channel 4 (UK), The Learning Channel, Discovery Channel, WGBH (Boston, Mass) and ABC (Australia). In 2008, Nigel resigned from Pioneer to pursue his freelance career, but still works for his old company as a consultant.
