Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Installing programs on a 2nd HD

    I've got a computer that can take more then 1 HD, after having run out of space of the 80gb HD I want to install a new larger drive.
    1. Will I be able to install programs (only planning to put games on it) on this other drive? I still want to boot from the original drive.
    2. Do all my programs have to be in the same place?
    3. Will I take a performance hit accessing from two drives?

    If you install on a given windows installation that is on one disk and select to install the game on another disk it will only work with that install of windows..not on other windows installs if you move the drive because there will be dependencies in the registry,windows folder etc..same for any software packages.

    This is true as a rule of thumb. However, some games will install their needed registry hooks etc when they're run, so it's not always true :)

    OP can also note from that, that you will still need some space on C: to install apps to the other drive

    note you can't move programs from C: to D:
    what you can do is uninstall the program to free space and then re-install it to d:

    spacemonger is great for finding out what is really using the space

    data files can be moved to D:
    setup a short cut on the desktop to a data folder on D: to make easier to cut/paste from C to D
