Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Radiator grants?

Asked this on the Green forum and got no answers; sorry for cross-posting, but if anyone can give me a positive answer I'll link the Green thread to this.

I was asking a passing workman about draining and cleaning my 30-year-old radiators, and he said "Wait a minute, aren't there grants for new, more efficient radiators? I heard there were green grants going."

    Are there?

I havent heard of any grants and Im not sure this is the right forum for this type of question. I will leave this thread open for now as someone else may have heard of something in the pipeline (I just love the puns;))

Muffler, if you think it would be better on another forum, please transfer it. I tried asking the question in the Green forum and got no answers; maybe DIY might be better - but I thought that 'construction and planning' would be the place to look, since people in the middle of building homes or extensions should know what's available.

I will leave it here for today and if there are no replies I will move it to the DIY forum then.

I've never heard of a grant to replace old radiators.

I have heard of L.A council grants to install oil fire central heating systems in older council housing or for eldery residents on low income.

Maybe thats where the idea of a grant comes from.
You could check out SEI webpage........:)

Same here, had a quick look around and found nothing.

Maybe he's (passing workman) getting confused with solar grants.
