Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I would be thinking about getting a 250 and then restricting it to get on the road for the first time on a bike.

I really like the cbr250 but have heard they can have engine problems. What other bikes could I look at that have that sports style?

    Cheers.

You could also look at a Yamaha FZR250, similar to the Honda CBR.

If you fancy new the latest Kawa Ninja 250 looks the business.

A Ducati Monster 400...no need to restrict, insurance is cheap. there is one for sale here in excellent condition with low miles.

Difficult to come across, only 10 in the country I think.

Varadero 125. Plenty of poke for a 125, comfortable, no messy restricting and certifying to go through, rock solid.

Yeah the fzr is nice and the Kawasaki ZXR 250. Are the Kawi's and Yamaha's imports aswell like the CBR?

I'm looking at going old. How much would it cost then to get it restricted. Does it just have to be restricted to under 25ps?

What I've heard is that cbr250 is one the best bikes Honda ever built :D
I have one and I love it, but it's designed for small people I must say :)

Perhaps actually...after a little more research it's actually just that it's hard to get parts as all cbr's are imports. Or maybe there's a specialist in Ireland that you know of??

Designed for small people.....I'm about 6,1 or 6,2.
What do you mean when you say this? I can understand why this might be actually come to think of it as most would be from asia where the average height of people would probably be lower.

I'm 5'4. My boyfriend is 6'3 and he looks hillarious on my little ciblet.

What corncers the parts - they're quite pricey from the honda dealers but here comes eBay and saves our hard earned cash. (for example: thermo switch 50euros from dealers and 11gbp on ebay :)

Sounds like it will be too small for me. Hopefully the fzr will be a good fit.
