Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am looking for a caravan to act as a temp housing while construction is underway on a house. It will only be used at the weekends but will be perched in a field. I have never been in a caravan before but have experience of mobile homes and how aqward they can be to move. I would love if somebody could help me with a few questions
What size should I be looking for (2 people)?
Is there a facility to connect to mains services?
how will it fair if its left standing in a field for a year, should I put down hard standing etc. and what maintenance should i do?
Is there anywhere online I could look at that sells in the lower price range?

If it's only weekend use then a 15 foot caravan would probably be fine. Electrical & Gas hookup is no problem, toilet is typically a cassette that would need to be emptied. I'd put down a hardstand (crushed stone/gravel) just to keep the weeds down. As reguards maintenance there isn't a huge amount as long as the seals are quiet good. Water ingress/leaks are the biggest problem.

Around Roscommon I guess http://www.innycamping.com/ might be worth checking out, might be able to pick up an old trade in. Buy and sell also worth checking out. In the past I've seen some bargains on ebay from the UK(search Damaged or Salvage caravan) these can be insurance write offs in great condition but not suitable for travelling.
