Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I bought quake 4 on ebay a few weeks ago and love the 1 player mode. I've always been a quake fan. I went to play online but it doesnt seem that many people play it well especially compared to Halo. I just want a bit of variety from Halo plus I hate COD (I know most people love it but it aint for me)
Anyone here play quake 4 online?

meant to say I got quake for €8 and that was including p&p. Ebay's great for buying cheap second games.

Got it the same day I got my first 360 and absolutley hated it. Sh1t gameplay, sh1t weapons and sh1t levels....truly one of the most boring game experiences ever..

Even when it was just out it was tough enough to get a game online.

fair enough looks like halo it is for multi player. I think the one player part is quite enjoyable played about 4 hours so far and its been quite good. Bit of slow down though that's a bit annoying. Wouldnt have expected it on a next gen game.

Just started playing it myself, though I very rarely play xbox online. So far the single player mode is fun but nothing new. I like the weapons (I'm an old school quaker) and the game play seems solid (though like I said, nothing new).

Worth finding it in a bargain bin.

    Hi,
I'm also an old time Quaker, and before that Doomer, and before that Wolf 3d-er! I suppose you could say I've been a dedicated id fan since the days of Commander Keen.

However, I bought Quake 4 recently (for the 360), and was quite disappointed, especially the online element of the game. I just feel that the style of online FPS gaming has moved on and up, and Quake 4 has been left behind.

That said, there are most probably still people who will like that style anyway, and still more who will play it cause it's Quake.

I wrote a thread on this here:

That said, I did like the fact that I got Quake 2 for the 360 with my copy of Q4. The only little problem was that the achievements you get don't give you points!
