Vested interests talked up the market with spin for so long its time to bring rents down <just as fast> with real facts now and make it possible for hard working tenants to have a decent life.

Ive lived here for 14 years and out landlord hiked the rent up +150 euro in Sept 07! I tried to fight it as it but had two wolves, the estate agent on one side and the land on the other snarling, if I didn’t want to pay it “I could arrange for the hand over of the apt”. Never missed a mths rent and did all repairs for 14 years. Greedy professional landlord bastards cost me a holiday, and not for the first year.

As I don’t have the funds to launch a marketing campaign, Ive an idea. An info leaflet for my apartment block and drop it to each post box, easy. Other people can print it off and drop to their apartment blocks / neighbors’.

Can anyone help with the headline and text?

    Something like:

    > Rents are falling and there are 1000s of lets empty. Ask for a rent discount now!

http://www.irishpropertywatch.com/ (I am not affiliated, but these people deserve medals)
From the 11th to the 18th of June 2008 there were 1,084 rent reductions. The average reduction was €98 per month.
There were 112 rent increases over the same period, the average increase was €120.
    ……….. other stats.

    >In the middle of a lease now? - Request a discount in the middle of you lease now.
Tell your land lords that rents a re dropping ref www. And that money is tight (like themselves) Lots will say yes rather than loose you now in a slump. Dont ask, dont get, nothing to loose.

    >Cant get your deposit back? The govt usually sides with tenants
    http://www.prtb.ie/tribunal2007.htm

    >How to break your lease (for example, if you are not given a discount or threatened with law)
Having to pay the balance of your lease is not true I have heard if you “try” to find suitable tenants and your landlord declines them. Ref www.threshold.ie

    >Rent increases in your next lease?

http://www.prtb.ie Lodges a complaint with the PRTB. Your rent will stay the same if you ask them to look at your case ( they work slowly) and will probably find in your favour.

    > New rentals? Don’t be afraid to make offers to letting agents.
They are asking their staff to take a 10% discount in wages, they know what a discount is.

The place may be on the market for over a month and a reasonable offer may be enough. Any saving is money in your back pocket.

    > Please make loads of photocopy’s of this and drop to your neighbours letterbox so all tenants can have a better life.

Finally - will need this translated and it can be double sided English/polish to save trees.

A pdf version for emailing as well can be done.
