This seems to be a big problem in Clane at the moment. I saw two instances yesterday where cans and bottles were scattered around the village. The first was in the park at the stream (across from Kennys pub/Aldi) and the second in the Abbey graveyard of all places where there were a lot of empty cans and broken glass bottles around the altar. I can't believe how anyone would want to go to a graveyard to drink but this is a fairly regular occurence I believe. The altar was destroyed with graffitti too not so long ago. It ties in with what other poster have said here about Clane getting rougher.

This all ties in with what I was saying in a previous thread - friends of mine have quoted similar examples to you on many occasions in the past.

Definitely seems to be getting rougher - its a pity as I remember it as quite a nice little village

It's not really a discussion as such, it was more you insisting that Clane is some sort of ghetto based on second hand info, and people who live there wondering what you're on about.

I am merely contributing to two threads that raised some of the problems in Clane. I did not start the threads therefore I am not the only person with these beliefs.

As regards my use of 2nd hand Information - we all use sources for our info when we post, - be they newspapers/TV/Radio/Work colleagues/Friends etc.. I am merely using 2 very good friends of mine as a source. Just because I did not expierience something does not make it any less valid.

Now back to topic - OP from what I have been told there does seem to be an increase in nocturnal anti-social behaviour in Clane. I have been told this by residents of Clane and I also drove through the town the morning after the trees were torn down and it is disgraceful but I suppose these things happen when a small town increases at the rate Clane has.

Not from Clane, Though I spend quite a bit of time there, visiting friends, socialising and stuck in traffic.

Anyway good to see we are back on topic

Well I am not basing this on second hand information because I have lived in Clane all my life. I'm not saying we are any worse than other towns in North Kildare but there is no doubt that this anti-social behaviour has noticeably gotten worse over the last few years. I'm not saying that it's the Dubs or the foreigners who are causing all of these problems either but when you have a large population increase in a short space of time as Clane has had, then this type of thing is an inevitable consequence.
