    Hi all,
I'm looking for a laptop for my Uncle who wants to use it for browsing and the like.
Seeing as most laptops (if not all) come with Vista nowadays, my pre-reqs would be:

    2GB RAM
    Wi-Fi

So - can anybody recommend a good one for around this price ?

I have been looking at http://www.laptopsdirect.ie/ and they seem to have some good deals....

Dell seem to be around 500 on the site, but whe you click on the "Customise and buy" button the base price jumps way over the 500 mark....

I just bought a new dell inspiron 1525 laptop on ebay. 2.4ghz 250GB HD and 2GB ram for less than €700 delivered from UK. It has a blue case and webcam. There are some great deals on it. Def cheaper than Dell Ireland!

You'll def find something decent for under €500!

Was it from a private seller, or from Dell (I know they do a lot of their specials on eBay) ?

It was from a shop "xpsbargains" however i checked and they seem to have very little in your price range.

Check out these guys. They've loads of stock and plenty of feedback.

I saw a Celeron laptop in Dunnes today reduced to €399. You could buy extra laptop memory cheap and install it yourself, it's very easy to do.

Just bought a Del 1525 2GB/160GB Dual Core for €440 on the IRL Dell outlet.
