There is an article on page 8 (maybe page 6 or 10, not sure:p) on John O' Shea in todays Irish Sun......... (thats JOS the pkr plyr, not the footie plyr for all the noobs on the scence)

They discribe him as an unempolyed 23 year old (like LOL, hes obv Pro Poker Player)

They also say hes the cheeky chap of Irish poker.:D, not wrong there!!!!!!

Very poorly written but i know this will mean alot to him as you know you've made it if the Irish Sun have picked up on it.

If he makes another FT in the WSOP he may even make the Iriosh Mirror. (LOL:o)

P.S.Theres a nice Pic of him too for all the females out there:p:p

PPS, this is not a level, im really serious guys.

Anybody know what happened to John O Shea ?

The documentary on him is up on Amazon but there seems to be no info about him after 2013.

I am guessing he stopped playing and got a regular job ?

Documentary is worth watching btw .

    Yes ...

He made a HUGE ridiculous bet on a heinekin cup match. He then lost. To the amount of 118, 000.

He made no dispute of this. He just refused to pay and then argued that Irish gambling debts under law couldn't be enforced or collected. He won his lawsuit.

The High Court held that the applicable legislative regime in Ireland, namely the Gaming and Lotteries Act, 1956, prohibits the enforcement of betting contracts as they are manifestly contrary to public policy, and the court was thus prohibited from recognising the order of the London court.

I presume every bookie has subsequently banned him.It is more than likely a lot of casinos are silly enough to let him in and sit down and play sadly.

I hear he did well in the WPT online this year???? Wasnt following too closely. Well done to him.

Yes i am sure he needs another job by now. Or even two.

    That’s mad.

Did he get the bet on tick ?

I would have assumed he would have to have the cash in his account to place such a bet.

Bit of a weasel thing to do in my opinion .

Part of me thinks you are right.

Part of me thinks its something only an addict would do. The weasels are the people who kept taking or encouraging his bets.

At the same time i wouldn't feel sorry for him. He doesn't seem like a nice person from his social media.

It obviously wasn't in his account tho. I mean ..people have houses and cars they can sell ..you can't stuff them in an account.

    Why wouldn't they?

Saying that i have no real idea about the terms of his bet.

The Amazon doc doesn’t paint him in a good light . Not paying a bet doesn’t reflect too well on him either .

I hope he is doing ok away from Gambling .
