A friend needs a static IP, wondering if there is any point asking NTL.

ntl don't allow servers on the residential network. You could use a dynamic dns Service.

Do they have a business account option over the cable?

A better question might be, why does your friend need a static IP in the first place?

If its not possible via NTL will use a ddns service.

    Cheers.

NTL do kind of give a static ip, but it's not guaranteed. Mine changed recently, probably something to do with all the upgrades they've been doing, but I don't think it had ever changed before that (with them about a year).
