To win we're going to have to

    Continue to play great defense
    -Pass the ball around
    -Move without the ball
    -STOP MANU
-Or at least, make sure no one else hurts us badly
-Improve on our FT% and 3pt%

The big one is our defense. That is the aspect that defines our team this summer. Our shot hasn't been there in any game YET, so the only thing we can depend on is our tenacious defense.

The key of the US wins has been the defense. That strong and intense man-on-man defense allow them to steal the ball, run and make easy baskets in transition (it's what they do better). Every turnover is a basket, and that kills the other team.

Actually, I barely remember some few baskets in static 5-on-5 plays of the USA team in the last games. And that's the key for Argentina. If they don't have too many turnovers and make US to play slowly and 5-to-5, they'll have a small chance.

Anyway, I still think that US will win this game and the final.

Just watching the game now. US were up 30-11 after the 1st, Argies have lost Ginobli to a game ending injury and a couple of their other players are limping around yet they're absolutely destroying the US now. Some cracking blocks and rebounds. Only 9 points in it now at the half and the US are visibly rattled.

Good game so far. Melo being a thug as usual!!!

Ginobilli limping out earlier was probably karma for all the flopping he's done with the San Antonio Spurs

Game over, comfortable in the end. D. Wade was super in the last quarter. Decent game to watch.

    I think it´s at 7.30

US will play against the only team which really can beat them nowadays.

In the previous game, Spain only showed a sad and poor 2-3 zone defense. I suppose tomorrow they will use 2-1-2, with pressing, traps... and the rest of good defense variations they didn´t want to show before. That´s their only hope to win.

That was a good game, beginning to end.

Didn't know Rudy Fernandez was such a baller. That dunk on Howard was NUTSO!

Anyway, good job by the Redeem Team

Bring this basketball medal to where it belongs:cool:

What happened to the improved defence? The Spanish Bull knows how to handle Matador defenders. :pac:

The Spaniards made them hit outside shots and they drained them. It seemed like every time they crept close to the Americans they canned a triple. It was a fun game to watch.

He´s quick, steals very good, and has a really fast shooting technique. I´m telling you, he´s amazing, I saw him a lot of times in the last Spanish regular season, and he did what he wanted.
I really hope that the Portland´s coach gives him enough minutes to play, because he really deserves it. Sadly, NBA coaches often prefer muscles instead pure talent...

That was the main key of the US win, in my opinion. They made some threes in key moments, when the score was close
Besides that, I think referees help US a little bit. It´s really annoying to see how they don´t call their travellings and faults again and again...

Yes, it was. US was the best team during the olimpics and they deserve the gold medal. Nowadays, USA and Spain are the best teams in the world for sure and it´s been one of the best international games I remember. Congratulations to US.

I dont think Fernandez has much of either to be honest, time will tell if he makes it in the NBA, you need BOTH muscles AND pure talent in the NBA a la LBJ..

Nevarro had a great game and better player than Fernandez IMO, hes a better size for his position, and that kid Rubio has game for a 17 yr old, but a lot depends on how he preformes in the NCAA.

Speaking of good young players that guy Ingles for Australia looked well in the few minutes he played against the USA.

Still I reckon you could put togather a team of the best players from all other teams and the USA would still beat them thats just how good they are.
