Already started last week, a section of the bridge on bridge street was dug up and put back down with a temp surface.

    Anyhow....
In conjunction with the implementation of the Balbriggan Village Urban Renewal Scheme the Water Services Department of Fingal County Council proposes to carry out essential improvements to the water and sewer systems in the town of Balbriggan on part of Quay Street, Bridge Street, Georges Square and part of Dublin Street. This work will be undertaken on a phased basis and is scheduled to commence on 16th June 2008 over a period of approximately 17 weeks.

At times during these works, it will be necessary to temporarily close or restrict access to the above streets. Traffic diversions and signage, clearly indicating the diversions, will be put in place prior to and during the works.

Pedestrian access to the streets in question will be maintained at all times for all the public, including residents on the streets, and every effort will be made to minimise disruption to the public in general and to the businesses in the town.

Drawings showing details of the streets where work will be undertaken and which will be temporarily closed, together with traffic diversions, are on display in the Balbriggan Town Council Offices.

Fingal County Council and Balbriggan Town Council again wish to remind the public that all businesses in the town of Balbriggan are operating as usual while works are in progress and pedestrian access to these businesses will also be maintained at all times.

Fingal County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks you in advance for your patience and understanding. These works when completed will greatly enhance, improve and benefit the town of Balbriggan.

It'll all link up to the Dublin Road pumping station which is phase 3 of the Balbriggan Skerries Wastewater Treatment project which is to be build in the south west corner of the church car park/town park.

Should be fun fun fun, I can only imagine what the traffic around Macs Shop will be like when the detours are in place
