Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

November 17, 1993, Belfast, Northern Ireland - Northern Ireland 1 - 1 Republic of Ireland

    November 17, 1993, Seville, Spain - Spain 1 - 0 Denmark

    1 Spain 12 8 3 1 27 4 +23 19
    2 Republic of Ireland 12 7 4 1 19 6 +13 18
    3 Denmark 12 7 4 1 15 2 +13 18
    4 Northern Ireland 12 5 3 4 14 13 +1 13
    5 Lithuania 12 2 3 7 8 21 -13 7
    6 Latvia 12 0 5 7 4 21 -17 5
    7 Albania 12 1 2 9 6 26 -20 4

With us only drawing in Belfast, we needed a good result between Spain and then reigning European Champions Denmark (in the final qualifying round), or else it would have been adiós and a World Cup similar to Euro 08 - one without British or Irish representation...

So with Spain playing tonight only their second semi final in my lifetime, to mark the occasion, here's some classic footage from one of Ireland's great unsung performances. This was arguably the game that announced the arrival of Roy Keane to the world stage and signaled a move to Manchester (note the post-match press reaction and talk of a move to Blackburn). We also get to see John Aldridge giving interviews in Spanish!

    ¡salud!

Speaking of which, has anybody ever seen the Marie Jones play "A Night In November"?

    Fantastic play, very funny.

This thread random? Hmmm, I'll have to come up with something more relevant here then for Spain's big day out on Sunday...

Football kits circa 1990/92/94 were mad.

Was that Michael Robinson interviewing him?

Definitely our greatest ever 0-0 win.
