Trainee Accountant Position in Cork

A friend is looking for a trainee contract in Cork. How difficult is it find a trainee position there? We've check jobs.ie and irishjobs.com, and most of the vacancies advertised are through agencies, which is difficult. She would be registering with one of the accountancy bodies as a mature student with a 2 year degree in Hotel Management, which included a few accountancy courses. She is on a deadline as she is from Canada and is in Ireland on a visitor stamp to look more into this. I was able to get several interviews and offers within a month in Dublin, but I don't know what it would be like in Cork. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Cheers!

this link is from the ICAI website and provides details of all the training firms in Ireland. You might have to do a bit of a search to find the ones in Cork but I'm sure some of the smaller firms in Cork do not yet have their full allocation for 2008. Also, check the websites of the big 4 as some of them will recruit additional graduates during the summer. good luck.
