I suspect that the quality of eyesight in my left eye has decreased sharply in recent times. It's always been the poorer of my eyes, but overall I had decent eyesight.

I recently had an eyetest courtesy of work, at which the optician said that my eyesight was perfectly fine. However, I am still concerned and would like a full examination rather than reading letters through a lens. I can feel the left eye working (if that doesn't sound daft) and it seems as if there is the slightest blurry patch in the upper right field of vision of my left eye.

OK, enough of my concerns.

Can anyone recommend a good professional to visit (in Dublin)?

As an aside, does anyone know of an opthalmagist/optometrist who is open in Dublin (preferably Southside) on a Saturday?

Most optometrists are open on a Saturday. What I would recommend is that if you have a real concern to go to a private practise as opposed to a multiple. Optoms in private practises are not under as much pressure to rush people in and out to meet the daily requirment of eye tests
