only found a short article in German about this
    http://www.focus.de/panorama/welt/emden-riesiger-hagelschaden-bei-vw-_aid_314162.html

But apparantly up to 30,000 new cars outside VW's Emden factory were damaged in a hailstorm. Hailstones were as big as ping-pong balls.

Damage is estimated to be in the three figure millions. VW are insured for those occurences, but wouldn't comment (yet) on how much the actual settlement may be for.

I wonder, is there anything to be bought at knock down prices now?
What do they make/store in Emden anyway? Anything in RHD?

anyway ...if you're getting a new VW in the next days/weeks, make sure to check the bodywork for dings and dents and the paint for re-work :D

At least 80 Irish cars affected. Not just VW either, Audi and M-B cars also involved.

    Ah Crap.

I hope the 9 I'm expecting over the next 2/3 weeks are in the country or on a boat already!

Expect to see approximately 30.000 new convertibles added to their range this autumn.
