    every 10 / 15 / 20 pings i get that timed out thing
obviously this is causing huge problems, i cant use irc , online poker , gaming etc they keep disconnecting it also makes sufting the net hard.
Is there some setting in windows i need to do to stop this i heard someone before mention aoss to be turned off or something. XP is using its wireless program even tho i installed the belkin software

any help on this would be fantastic.

A bit of a wild guess, but try turning off the zeroconf service in XP. I'm curious if the regularity is caused by it's attempts to check wireless settings.

tried it man , didnt change anything
the weird thing is the belkin software wont pick up a signal so i gotta re-enable the windows one everytime to connect
    something aint quiet right here

    **update**

just tried via ethernet cable and the exact same thing is happening
the isp is irish broadband, anyone else ever had problems like this?

That is normal for IBB, ping is a depreciated service on their network.

    the pings are fine
its those drop outs that are happening every 20 packets
msn irc poker gaming nothin will stay connected, even web browsing is almost impossible.. streaming is a no go.

Is this normal for irish broadband? Or is it possible my landlord has something on the router to stop people streaming downloading or even using msn? Im seriously contemplating getting a mobile service just so i can use the internet and not be locked to hitting refresh in firefox every 1 minute.

    Which package have you got?
    I'm a bit confused now.
Are you on NTL? or IBB? or Digiweb (as 89.234.66.107 is a Digiweb IP)

    What product are you on?
eg: With IBB, there's a big difference between Ripwave and Breeze.

hi daffy, landlord told me it ntl cable, at this point im sure he lied

when i do a traceroute or speedtest it shows up as Irish Broadband
infact im sure its irishbroadband as the 1st hop after the router + 3 + 4 is to a irishbroadband router

neways its preventing me from doing anything , even msn so infuriating

    at input would be great

my guess is IBB dsl 3mb/(4?) as i get download speeds in the region of 450 kb/s for the 5 seconds that they run using a download manager and plus my ping times are very low ( dsl standard )
