I posted this in the thread in the WoW forum, so apologies if its been seen before. But its a fairly cool first glimpse at the game.

When is boards going to start banning the tools that post this crap?

About the same time as certain posters get a sense of humour, although I would expect a significant wait in some cases.

It's over now. It was probably funny the first time someone did it, it's certainly not funny anymore. And for those people that do think it's funny you could label it as "rick roll with new diablo trailer" so then your kind can get their fix and people with better things to do don't have to waste their time.

It hurts. I understand. Buck up there matey, the burn doesnt last long.

As something on topic however, have they specified any basic requirements for the game? Are we talking Crysis level here or like previous Diablo titles will it be a fairly low requirement?

As long as the Blizzard logo appears I wouldnt mind what it is. As long as there isnt a cup in it.

    Why do they do this??

When Starcraft2 was announced I was like "Sweet, it looks nearly done, I reckon this christmas". Seems like I was a year out on that guess, shouldn't have been surprised as Blizzard are (thankfully) perfectionists.

BUT, I wish I had not heard about Diablo 3, really! Every time they announce a game it looks almost ready to play, but I know that it wont be ready for at least another year and it guts me!

Blizzard, why cant you announce a game when you know its only a few months away, stop the torture!

Also, I hope they implement some form of "spawn" game like in starcraft. I enjoyed playing diablo 2 LOD with my brother on a LAN game at home, but I don't think its fair to expect people to pay for 2 copies of a game for this simple pleasure. I never liked playing on battle net, I would not always be able to log in to preserve a proper character and I didn't like the cheating on the open servers. LAN game was the only way I liked it, god darn it.

Agreed, LAN 4 player for D2 was far better. Especially the fights when you heard a ring drop. MINEMINEMINE

Just thinking there, 5 classes would hopefully require the same balance as Diablo 2.

So far we have a witch doctor (summoner/spellcaster, similar to necromancer) and barbarian (big melee wrecking ball, similar to ehhh...barbarian).

So, that means we should have:

    a ranged combat specialist
    a multiplayer/team support specialist
    an out-and-out spellcaster

Please oh please let my favourite, the rogue/amazon return. I dunno how that would work with the selectable sex thing work, but that was my favourite character. Followed by necromancer which sadly will probably not be returning.

    was there a support/team speacialist in d2?

i thought they were all like solo classes

It's interesting to have a look at the official Diablo III forums. The die hard fan boys are going ape at it being in anyway like WoW. While I agree that it shouldn't be a downscaled version of WoW it doesn't make any sense to me for a sequel not to evolve and change.
Some of the things being talked about are the ability to respec (can't see the harm), a fairer looting system (needed for ranged damage characters) and various other things. Thoughts anyone?

From the video iv seen that loot isnt coloured to indicate how good it is .ie blue gold etc

Hopefully this will be changed since id rather not pick up every single loot and have to see if its good or not

The beauty of Blizzard's sublime balancing act. Yes, obviously they could each be played through in single player, but the addition of the Paladin was due to Blizzard's refocusing of the game onto a multiplayer stage. Like all great games, the Paladin was adept at solo combat, but he really came to the fore in multiplayer games when his offensive and defensive auras could boost his squads efforts.

I would expect a similar support character in D3.

Sure it is, and in the traditional Diablo theme you have to use the scroll of identify on it :D

There us a purple amulet at the end, plus a unique (gold) item i think. I dont think they would remove something as simple as color coding.

Also, the axe he swaps for has a blue lettered name
