    Hi,

I understand you have to wear your glasses for about a week before the consultation but what happens at a first consultation? Read a chart etc? It would be worth going to get an accurate eyesight test as no matter where I go opticians-wise, the results are always different!

There's alot more than reading a char, in fact that's probably the smallest bit to it. They give you a complete eye test, check the physical structure of your eye, pupils etc. They give you drops to turn your pupils into the size of your head so they can see the back of it clearly and will probably get a wavefront map of your eye
