    Hi

I'm looking to install a green sedum roof or equivalent on our breezeblock shed in the back garden. About 100 sq foot in size

Does anyone know who would do this and how much it would cost?

    Thanks in advance

    Bob

Green roofs are expensive, require a bulkier roof build up and usually require a specialist contractor (most roofing membranes can only be installed by a number of installers approved by the manufacturers) Bauder are one company that do green roofs including all membraanes and layers. You could probably do a DIY effort with some profiled metal decking, drainage layers and topsoil but you would have no guarantee.

On the other hand green roofs should be incorporated where ever possible and I applaud your effort, in this country we seem to have a policy of cheapest solution as standard. Anything above this is generally deemed by the client as excessive and the manufacturers as a license to charge whatever excessive figure they want. Why else would we still have the 300mm cavity wall, non-reinforced PVC windows, and on site constructed doors and frames with no draught excluders.

I know that Bauder have completed a domestic scale extension in Dublin. The rep showed me photos a few years back. It may be on their website literature. Slig is right, its a commendable idea, the execution my be quite expensive though.
