There's a few ways to do it depending on what software you've got on your computer. I usually just do a Google search for a nice big version of the album cover. I download the image to my computer. Then I bring it into Photoshop and use the Rectangular Marquee tool to copy a rectangular part of the image into a new image. If you don't have Photoshop try IrfanView. In fact even if you do have Photoshop, download IrfanView anyway, it's a great program! In IrfanView you can simply open the image and then click and drag on the image to select the part of the image you want.

Save the new image and upload it to an image hoster. I used Wthax but there are plenty of others such as ImageShack. When the image is uploaded there will be a link displayed that you can copy and paste into your forum post to make the image appear.

Yeah, you can do that too. You could also use the Canvas Size option to chop off the part of the image you don't want. Photoshop has a lot of functionality in it .

I won't pretend that my way is the best or anything like that. It's just the process that I use and it works for me.
