Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hi, new to this campervan scene and have a couple of questions, just wondering whats the main type of gas used in motorhomes in ireland, and is it ok to use normal calorgas (lpg?) for your cooker with the normal regulator valve or should it be propane/butane?
    cheers...

Propane is the preferred Gas for Motorhomes/Caravans etc as it has a lower freezing point than butane.

Which is the propane bottle? Is it a different colour than butane? Do they use the same regulators?

Propane is the red bottle and it's regulator is screw on. Regulator is usually red too.

You could try a marine shop as the're occasionally used on boats. Another option is to contact www.Calor.ie direct. I've seen the 6kg cylinders on sale in camping shops in the UK.

www.calor.co.uk have a lot of info and an online shop for cylinders (not much good here) and they have a caravaning section. The Calorlite option looks good if we ever get them over here...
