    Ah, my apologies!

I thought you had said that a 135mm lens would equal a 90mm on a cropped camera :)

My answer was a bit ambiguous the first time too. I knew what I meant.

The OP has a Nikon D40 which is (I think) a 1.5 sensor.

    OP,

I don't know what part of the woods you live in but you missed a great night last night in the Dublin Camera Club. It was my first night, but not my last. Ciaran Whyte from the Celbridge club was there doing flash photography and would have been right down your alley. He showed how to achieve well lit shots with a flash gun along with a few relatively cheap pieces of gear. He did show how devestating an effect the built in flash (head on) can be, and how to modify this effect.

    Isn't it 1.4 on the 1D MkIII?

The 1D Mk III is 1.3 cropped, the 1Ds Mk III is full frame, they may or may not bring out another full frame or 1.6 cropped camera in the 1D range... Who knows. I'd prefer if they just got their 5D together, not that I'll be buying it.

If I was mod in here I'd kick yer asses for OT-ness and gratuitous gear porn.
Mine's a Mk XVII and it's got a wiggly bit underneath which attracts small fish

But I'm not so, uhhhh, carry on ...

    :P
