That's not an '03 front end? More like an '06.

Flanzer - are you looking for an A8 as a family car ?

    It this your 5th or 6th kid ? :D

Yeah, its the newer front end! That didn't appear on the A8 until mid-late 2005. And it ain't as simple as a different grill. The bonnet, grill, bumper (and maybe even the lights) are slightly different.
When I had the A3, I read about some guys in the UK who did the conversion to the new (uglier in my opinion!) face, and it wasn't that straightforward a job.

That's quite possibly a crashed-repair or the previous owner could have just done a conversion...

unless the bonnet, wings lights and bumper were being replaced anyway....

conversion might have been worth doing on UK car - you can just buy a new plate and hide its age that way - but pointless here when you've a big 03 stuck on the thing.

i reckon this is just crashed and the repairer found it easier to source the parts from a newer model than the original one.

its still a very nice car though.

As I enter my 30s and with my 1st on the way, I'm beginning to like my comforts! It's only a matter of time before I become a regular poster on BG&RH!

An A8 is conjusive to this impending change in lifestyle!

Ya i seen the same thing with quite a few A4's over on pistonheads. The ars.e end and front ends don't add up.....

    http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/590189.htm

Check out this one. The nimrod made a total balls of it, the bonnet does not close properly and again the backside and front ends don't match.

If you want a (very) late 2004/2005+ facelift model then buy one!!!!!

AFAIK Audi offers a retro fit for old style A3 models and A8 models to retrofit the new single frame grille of newer models onto the older models.

    So this

    turns into this

    Obviously apart from the colour........:o

Audi ruined the front end of all their cars when they decided to combine the upper and lower grilles. They used to look so good at the front until then.
