    Hi all,

Im looking to either get a mid range (about 1k) LDC mic or else something like a Shure sm7b and highend/high gain preamp.
I want to get that really upfront warm but still airy vocal sound (its for a male singer with a slightly higher register than johnny cash currently using an AT4033a which sounds very thin i find)

my problem is i can read about mics forever but how do you try them which is the real test. Is there anywhere in Ireland that will let you try before you buy?

    cheers
    Bryan
