23.1c here atm. Virtually clear blue skies overhead - not much sign of cloud.

Very difficult working conditions today as my office is in the back garden and I am looking out on the patio (table and chairs) and there is an open bottle of wine in the fridge!!!!!

Just hit 24.4C here now. Lots of clouds bubbling up to the west, taking a time lapse video at the moment and will upload later.

Hardly a cloud in the sky here all day. Looked very doggy on the Irish sea this morning at 6AM, a lot of cloud out there with the wind coming from the east i thought it was going to be an overcast day. It must have burned off because it never made it over land. 21c

Warmest day here since i moved to Annamoe.
Max of 23.0°C, which is hell to sleep through (am working nights this week).

Two records so far this year established today.

Firstly, 23.7c max temperature at 13:54hrs.
Secondly, 18.9c max Dew Point at 17:31hrs.

0mm rain, despite radar showing a clump of yellow over here? Must have evapourated before groundfall.

21.9c here currently, with a rh of 79%. Feels splendidly monsoonal. Just 0.5mm from a recent shower. That warm breeze is life giving.

Still not a cloud to be seen here and still very warm. six one forecast predicting very heavy thundery rain tonight especially over east of country. Hard to believe that looking out the window at the moment!

Knee high mist rising over the plains for miles around. The whole world looks like something from a fairytale.

Lovely summer evening - 18 and DP of 16. Clear sky - still no sign of the impending cloud and rain/thunder approaching from Wales.

Seem to be a few rumbles of thunder about here.

    It's awful muggy here now.

    15.9c

11:00pm in Carlow was very mild and dry indeed, surely well above 15C. Perfect summer's evening to be out and about!

11:30pm was a different story altogether. Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning (the difference between the sound and the visual was greater than 60 seconds).

Some spectacular lightning though, one taxi driver I spoke with afterwards told me how everything in front of him (the sky, the road, the lot) became completely illuminated as he drove - it blinded him so he had to slow down!

Main rain band appears to have passed now. A total of 9.3mm (including the rain from the 'thunderstorm' last night. 16.3c atm. Looks like there could be some hefty showers during the day (especially if we get a bit of sun).

In the clouds again. If still in the clouds by 2pm this will be the 10th day in the clouds in July, quite astonishing.

There was thundery rain this morning at a 6 am but alas no thunder or Lightning overnight or this morning. The sky doesn't have that thundery look today and it feels fresher too. Current temperature is 19.8 c

Nasty thunderstorm in Trim, Co. Meath at the moment. A friend has said a neighbors house has just been hit  Can see the storms building from here in D8 - Wales is now very much alive!!!

A couple of showers this morning, cleared up nicely now - the wind in rather like a hairdryer on the slowest setting

    Mike.

Looking East (near the coast, Dublin 13), looks like a few distant CBs out to sea. Blowy but nice otherwise.

Edit: There are a lot more CBs then I thought. Band is approaching from the sound and there's a few mature CBs hovering over the Dublin mountains now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,544 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Lashing rain, could see this shower develop as it was approaching.

Yeah clouds looking very dark towards your direction alright supercell. Don't think it will hit here, it seems to be confined to the mountains. Any one see the six one weather? John said something about another jet stream:eek:

Some big cbs poping up over that cloud too.

Just passed though, rain rate was up to 26mm/hr there for a few mins got a couple of mm from it, looks to be more coming too.

Looking south, CBs seem to be merging. Mountains hardly visible.

Any chance of something happening tonight?

What a refreshing night. Opened window and that lovely cooler air is coming in.

It's been awful muggy and having sleepless nights for the last week, a change from the 25c indoor temp at night and for one welcome these rain bands :)
