    yup it would be the route i would take anyway.

    i travel that road 5 days a week (don't cycle it though) there's nothing really that should get in your way, quality bicycle lanes 90% of the way.

    An alternative would be via Blackrock and Deans Grange, which would be generally flatter, but a bit longer.
