Hostel in Santa Monica??

Anyone know a good hostel or cheap hotel in a good area of Santa Monica? Needs to be not to far from the beach and easy enough to get to all the sights. Have booked the Bayside Hotel for the first night anyone stayed there?

theres a cheapish motel (if squeeze a couple of extra people into your room) not too far from the santa monica pier, its along the beachfrontish road. layed out courtyard style so bit of an operation sneaking people in, but sure isn't that part of the fun of a road trip.
When you're on Venice beach, there a little fast food chipper style place called the wings that do absolutely amazing burgers and chicken wings, check it out
