And don't forget if you picked up the voucher pack there's money off if you spend more than 35 quid (sometimes the voucher packs are till in the bagging area).

Hi - what is 'FB'? The only website I can find is the M&S UK one, is there an Irish site?

Apologies if I was obscure! It's the common abbreviation of Facebook. :-) They're on there as 'Marks & Spencer Ireland'. I added them for some pre-Christmas competition.

The offer will be available til the 19th January they claim. Hope it's not like normal where they run out of the good stuff by Thursday evening then.

Only Lamb mains left in Blanch this afternoon, decent selection of the sides/desserts. Lamb was nice and the banoffie cheesecake is worth killing for

Since it's in the list, I'd recommend to try Piedmont Barbera. It's not one of the most famous wines, but it could be surprisingly good (although a lot depends on where it's been sourced). :)

Mmmm .... the Gastropub Moussaka is gorgeous! :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,156 ✭✭✭oneweb

Do most stores only carry some of what's on the menu or are there some where everything's available for each offer? Jervis usually only has 2 or 3 mains at a time for example.

    It is what it's.

    It seems relatively good value.
But for double the normal €12 offer your getting a starter and a small box of chocs or a rose.

We're giving this one a miss this time, but are awaiting the next €12 offering.

Some high quality stuff in there. Excellent value for money. Thanks!

you do have to also bear in mind you're getting better mains (duck a lorange, rack of lamb etc), and better wines ( the petit chablis is €16.49 by itself)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 205 ✭✭chillin_penguin

The wine is always god awful tho

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 270 ✭✭CoNfOuNd

I think that's what I'm getting for valentines night!

I've no idea about the wine. I'm not really a connaiseur. Hopefully they'll have some nice champagne (can I call cava champagne?).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 724 ✭✭✭muckety

The wine in this offer is a better wine than the usual muck.

The Rioja is drinkable - haven't tried the petit chablis (though at 16.49 I wouldn't try it) - so the 25 is probably OK value.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,517 ✭✭✭foodaholic

got the chocs, scallops, rack of lamb and the choc fondants with the bottle of cava.

not bad value at all until i reversed the car into a pillar.
Most expensive valentines meal ever :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

Trip to M&S tomorrow and I'm all sorted for Valentines. I think it is worth the extra cost tbh. They did this last year as well and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I hope there's still some choice left on Saturday, we've been looking forward to this for weeks.

can you advise how many chops comprise the "rack" of lamb you got?
None were available in stephens green when the missus checked?

    thanks

You'd get about six chops off the rack of lamb I reckon, small ones.

Is this a sit in meal offer or do you take it away in sealed packs etc.

When it says 'dine in' it means cook it yourself and dine at home, not in the M&S café :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 93 ✭✭be wide of me

Yes it's all to be cooked at home!! Great selection! Sent my Dad in early for it since he was heading in town got the Scallops, Rump Steaks, Chocolate truffle desserts and the Cava and chocolates!! He said they were like vultures in there!

I wish they were in Waterford. I'm going to Limerick tomorrow and plan on shopping in M&S in Clonmel, hope there's some left.

I got 2 lots of the €10 meal deal in Tesco this evening and it was delicious and very good value considering the wine is €9.99 on it's own.

same here we had the tesco deal this evening and it was very good.

it was the dine in for ten, think they are doing a valentines one as well, but the one we had was delicious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

Tomorrow I shall be dining on:

    Lochmuir Smoked Salmon Parcels

The Cook Menu Steak with Peppercorn Sauce
    Chunky Chips

    Mocha Fondant

    Rioja Romeral

    Chocolate Collection

Happy St Valentine's day to all from Bree Van De Kamp (me) *kind of* :D

I'm normally a big fan of the M&S Dine in for 2. However, the only problem is, you have to wait 2 weeks or so for the next one. I tried the Tesco €10 deal, that seems to be available every day. It's really good value, and the wine is good - I got Casillero del Diablo chardonnay and shiraz.
I gave the valentine's day M&S offer a miss this week, I'll wait for the regular €12.50 offer. My freezer is just too full! Enjoy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,074 ✭✭✭skibum

Just had the scalops, followed by the rump steak and veg, topped off by the choc pudding, washed down with wine......
Very happy for the total cost of 25 euro, missus appreciated the red rose...

    Quality was second to none
    + 1 for m&s.....

    Me too :D

(except we had pannacotta instead of your choc fondants)

The rose cava was pretty impressive and €25 for the whole meal was an absolute bargain.

Baked camembert, rack of lamb with roasted veg, pannacotta topped with raspberries and a petit chablis. Fantastic value for €25.

Haven't scoffed the chocs yet tho.

Thanks WM, you were on the ball, 4am???
I had the chicken stew, only bought 3 meals this time. You can't beat it, the variety is very good. I'm a saddo, I have a reminder on my computer in work for the next one on Thursday week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 813 ✭✭✭CaliforniaDream

I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about the next offer?
There wasn't one last week and thought they might do something for Easter instead but there's nothing showing on the site.

    Thanks!
