MODEDIT: decoupled from an old thread about Hummer stretch limos

New CO2 based VRT and road tax is out
Petrol price is extremly high and goes more up
What is the story to buy Hummer today?
They are very cheap on Ebay, approx 12500-18000 euro, how much will be vrt today, how much will be road tax?If car is not commercial, with what way it can be in broth to Ireland as commercial - do this way still can save money?
If it will be turned commercial,do I must to weld back doors or its enough to remove seats? Is there any requirements,(lights etc) what can be big problem to bring it to Ireland?
    Any help or discuss welcome!

    Holy thread resurrection, Batman!

I would say that under the new VRT rules a Hummer would be crucified.

Private road tax on it will be €1500ish, commercial will be just under €300. To make it commercial the back seats need to be removed and the seat belt anchors welded shut, think you also need to remove or blacken the rear windows. VRT on it will be €50 as a commerical vehicle.
