Murphy's Honey: Where has it gone?

I really like the brand Murphy's Honey, but for the past several months I haven't been able to get it at any of the major south Dublin supermarkets.

I wanted to contact the manufacturers, but can't easily find them in google. Anybody know anything about it?

i.e. if you know your honey (no double-entendres meant!), please say what brand might be a good replacement? (Right now I myself use the Rowse' Chilean honey as a replacement.).

Alternatively, if your in the business, maybe you might be able to guess why Murphy's has absented itself from our shelves for a little while.

    Cheers for the attention!

Wasn't that the honey that was found to be not exactly what it said on the tin?? As in, it was labeled as Irish honey but in fact was just a blend of imported honey? I could be wrong but that might explain its absense.

Have you tried Bunalun honey?? mmmmmmmmm :D

    Hi sudzs,

That would explain it's rapid disappearance from several shops, cheers! a good pointer!

Hmm ... Rowse's Chilean honey doesn't have much Irish in it either ... and I expect Irish wines can't get into the shops exactly because of the fact that they are Irish ...weird, and unfortunate.

"Bunalun" ..., nope have not seen this, anywhere. A specialist shop, I expect ... any clues where I might be able to get it?

    Cheers

I tried the Bolger's honey, the one with the golden label, and it's very normal ...nice but normal. Unfortunately it's a bit more expensive, so I'll stick with Rowse' Chilean for the time being.

The hungarian Rowse' honey is not for me, it's incredibly light and less sweet. I dare say it will please others though.

Speaking of prices, the Manuka honey (from bees that feed on this New Zealand bush) seems to be twice the price of normal honey. I suppse because of the mythical quality to the word Manuka. Or maybe, it's pricey bring it all the way from New Zealand.

    More honey reports welcome! Please!
