Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How do you know when a players price is going up?
Normally when they are doing well. Just like in real life.

How do you know when a players price is going up? was gonna but Giovani earliar in the week but decided against til Champos League was over in case of injury...now I can't afford him!!

    check out this site:
    http://crackthecode.fiso.co.uk/
If you go to 'rises' you see the next players whose price is going to rise (it depends on how many people transfer them in) if you see someone's percentage is over 100% you can be sure his price will rise that night. Prices are updated at 2am every night.
You can also check out whose price is going to drop.

Yeh thats been posted before. Quite useful.

Who will I captain this weekend,

    Ronaldo
    Lampard
    or Robinho?

    Hmmm!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,915 ✭✭✭✭menoscemo

    I have Ronaldo and Lampard.
probably going with lampard this week because the fixture is easier.

Robinho seems a good gamble, has good home form, but I don't have him myself.

I have Lamps, Robinho and Ronaldo and I'm mulling over the captaincy too.

As with last year, the majority of the top teams already have Lampard and Ronaldo, and I don't think you can gain points on them without gambling.

I think Robinho is due a good game.

    Here's my current team.

    Given
    Distin McShane Laursen
    Ronaldo (c) SWP Richardson Geovanni
    Adebayor (Berbatov) Defoe Zaki

    Bench: Schwarzer Denilson Paintsil Barnett

Not sure I've made the correct selection this week.

Backing Newcastle against Fulham to keep a clean sheet.
And benching Denilson because they have Utd.

    Any suggestions?

Got rid of Fabregas for Bentley now that Spurs found out how to win. I can use the extra 2.7m to strengthen elsewhere.

I think a key factor for this week's fixtures will be knowing which players to bench. I reckon the people who will score highest will be those who make brave decisions and show a willingness to bench a few star names. It's knowing which ones to drop though that I'm finding difficult.

At the minute I'm planning on dropping Defoe and Evra as I don't see them picking up a lot this weekend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,009 ✭✭✭kronsington

i was thinking on bringing in stevie g for ronaldo just for this week and have him as captain? any thoughts? do people think ronnie will do the business against arsenal? either that or i might drop berbs for one game in favour of someone around the same price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 742 ✭✭✭Loco

Bent looks like a buy and a half at £6.9 with 6 goals in last 5 games.

Evra, maybe, but this might be the game to play him in against Arsenal as they're without Adebayor and Van Persie.

Portsmouth are at Sunderland so Defoe is in my line up.

Ronnie has a good record against arsenal- I'm keeping him as captain.

Unsure who to replace Adebayor with. Anelka or Berbatov?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,882 ✭✭✭Macker1

Will Torres may the starting 11 for LFC ???? Kinda hoping that he will come back on fire eager to make up for missed time. Not sure I want to risk him as captain especially if he doesn't start.

Get them both if you can. That's what I wanted to do but couldn't last week. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Nah I have my forward line set up the way I want to keep it. Just need someone to replace Ade.
Anelka should bag a goal or two against Blackburn.
But Arsenal's defense has been poor and I can see Berb getting goals

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,727 ✭✭✭✭Sherifu

Of the two i'd go for Berb ahead of Anelka.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,745 ✭✭✭doonothing

    * Cech replaced by Van der Sar
    * Defoe replaced by Anelka
    * Adebayor replaced by Rooney

Is that worth 8 points? I have Berb out in front too.. Any of them not guaranteed starts?

I needed 0.2 more to get Rooney in

I would keep Cech and look at saving by getting someone other than Anelka, don't want to put you off :) wouldn't have Anelka not consistent enough for me.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,745 ✭✭✭doonothing

Yeah, me neither! I got him mainly because of the match against Rovers on Sunday, I can see him burying a goal or two then!
Maybe I should just leave Defoe in? I'm just antsy at leaving money in the bank instead of on the field..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,658 ✭✭✭✭Peyton Manning

Id go for Berbatov. Bias aside, he was rested midweek so will definitely play. Anelka might not play, and probably wont get a full game now that Drogba is back.

    Goalkeeper dilemma -

    Schwarzer at home to Newcastle

    or

    Myhill at home to Bolton.

Much of a muchness really isn't it?

Actually fancy Newastle to win, so personally I would go for Myhill.

Yeah I can see at least one Newcastle goal anyway so might be best off with Boaz.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

I've lost my nerve. I'm going to play Defoe after all. Will drop Laursen to the bench to make room for him. I'm still leaving Evra out though. :o

AGH! signed into my fantasy.premierleague account there expecting to be all happy with nasri's points, and then realised that at some point last weekend while drunk i made 3 changes, one of which was swapping out Nasri for Kuyt. :( Need Dirky to do some serious business now against WestBrom...

    Dam it.Why didn't I make Lamps captain?:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

I think the trick is just guessing when to take the captaincy off ronnie... I was so close to sticking it on Robinho this week

Is Torres liKely to play today?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Doubt it, he's on the bench but I cant see him coming on unless its 0-0 approaching 75-80 mins. On the flip side he might be brought on for match fitness if 'Pool go 3 or 4 goals ahead.

Saha is on fire,2 goals and an assist in the last 10 mins!:O

I was right not to make Ronaldo captain but my choice of Zaki didn't pay off.

Defoe came good for me though with a goal. I'm delighted I changed my mind and brought him back in. Also happy I kept Evra out.

    Fcuksake!

Last week, took Defoe and Nasri out:rolleyes:

hahaha... I had Nasri in at the start, he's not guaranteed a game so I doubt many people had him, same goes for Saha

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,692 ✭✭✭✭OPENROAD

Got rid of Defoe  brought in Bent, so need him to sore a couple.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,010 ✭✭✭besty

What a bittersweet series of events so far. As a United fan, it was head over heart to take the captaincy off Ronaldo and leave Nasri in. Now, with Lamps as captain I'm bound to pick up a few points.
