84 points - mainly ronaldo / boswinga / ireland tho

    Current team:
    cech schwarzer
    evra boswinga agger paintsil
    ronaldo delap marney lampard ireland
    zaki robinho bent

    Thinking of
    Reina schwarzer
    aurelio boswinga agger paintsil
    ronaldo delap marney lampard ireland
    zaki anelka bent

You're swapping chelsea keeper and man utd defender to have three pool defenders?

I wouldn't. Pool concede you're toast in defence.

    3 transfers made

    Clichy > Bowsinga
    Arteta > Kuyt
    Torres > Anelka

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 742 ✭✭✭Loco

evra hasn't been amazing, and utd have a tough run of away fixtures.

    Cech may miss next weekend.

Anelka is grabbing all the goals lately.

Yes i would be exposed to Liverpool a bit much, but could transfer out aurelio in a week or two

Had a good week, 85 points. Only thing that let me down was Cheh, Zaki and Carew didnt play. Anyone know if they will play next week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,638 ✭✭✭Iago

    Crap

73 points with 9 players. No Rooney or Zaki :( have to start checking team info on a Friday night.

My wifes team is over 100 points ahead of my team

I've gotten rid of Zaki and brought in Robbie Keane. Even though he's not exactly shone thus far I really feel Keane will hit top form very soon and start pulling his weight. Liverpool's future fixtures look pretty good. I just hope Rafa the rotator doesn't mess things up for me.

    Zaki.

    Goals: 8
    Minutes played: 1058

No competitor in starting forward role.

Back from injury next week as he's had a flu.

    Keane:

    Goals: 2
    Minutes played: 855

Behind Torres as competitor in starting forward role.

Currently injured (shoulder) and out of Ireland game on Wednesday.

    You sir, are mad.

    My new sexy team. Shiny.

    1: Reina

    2: Bosingwa
    3: Carragher
    4: Vidic
    5: Laursen
    6: Cole A

    7: Ronaldo(C)
    8: Ireland
    9: Geovanni
    10: Lampard

    11: Zaki

Oh yeah definitely could be madness. :)

I'm not convinced Zaki can maintain form though whereas I feel Keane will find his form of old soon. Also I wouldn't suspect his injury (wink, wink) is anything too serious. I'm sure he'll be fit for Liverpool's next Premier League game along with a certain Mr Gerrard. I'm sure that's Rafa's doing.

    Made a few changes;

    1: Turnbull

    2: Bosingwa
    3: Carragher
    4: Zayatte
    5: Figueroa

    6: Geovanni
    7: Ronaldo
    8: Delap
    9: Lampard

    10: Anelka
    11: Torres

    Team at tyhe moment is

    Cech

    Agger Turner A Traore (Baird,Figuroa)

    Geovanni Ronnie Lamps Delap (Marney)

    Zaki Defoe Torres

I was thinking to change Traore to Arbeloa and Torres to Anelka.

My thinking is that Torres is not going to get a full 90 mins for another few gameweeks and Traore is not guaranteed his place while Aleka is on fire and Arbeloa seems to like popping up with assist.

I could bring in Boswinga either but I would have to take out a Chelsea player or get a different forward than Anelka.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I finally ditched Denilson this week. Has not done anything in weeks and fundamentally is a defensive midfielder. Traded him for Geovanni.

Also have Defoe and think he could be the next to go. I expect Pompey to struggle without Harry and don't think he will get enough chances.

Aye, I was thinking the same, but it'll be a further 8 points to swap Defoe for Anelka and Denilson for Delap as I had planned! I dunno, worth it? Already spent 4 points getting Lampard :(

    took the hit for anelka!

    team is now:

    reina

    arbeloa
    agger
    boswinga

    ronaldo
    lampard
    ireland
    delap

    zaki
    bent
    anelka

Would it be worth taking a 12 point hit for these changes?
    * Dunne replaced by Carragher
    * Ferdinand replaced by Hangeland
    * Hamann replaced by Ashbee
    * Defoe replaced by Anelka

Took the plunge early this week.

    Jaaskelainen

    Turner Agger Boswinga

    Delap Lamps Ronnie Geovanni

    Defoe Zaki Anelka

Transferred in Jaask for Cech,Anelka for Torres and Boswinga for Traore.

    Opinions on the team?

I'd bring in Boswinga instead of Carragher as he is a more attacking player.Possibly keep Defoe, could be in for a big haul(he is due one.)

What is your team by the way?

Boswinga and Anelka will be going up tonight.

I would like ideas on this.I transferred Cech for Jaask as he is a doubt but also that Jaask has been doing well in the fantasy game this year.Plus.The most agoalie can get is 10 points max whereas I think Agger and Boswinga are both capable of goals.

Jaask has 2 pretty easy game weeks coming up.(Middlesborough and Sunderland)

    Plus.He is 1.6 million cheaper than Cech.

You guys think this was a bad move?

I currently have James but am thinking of bringing in Jaask this week really to free up some money to possibly bring in Agger, or maybe buy a better striker, currently have Bent and Zaki, brought in Boswinga last weekend hope he will continue to get points.

What do you plan on doing with the extra money?

Looks like it's gonna be very hard to move up any league in the next while. Everybody seems to have the same team. Mainly Ronaldo, Anelka, Lampard, Geovani, Boswinga, Zaki.

But on the other side of the coin, if you don't have those players you'll more than likely move down the table.

It's taken a bit longer than normal for the teams to settle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 742 ✭✭✭Loco

yeah everyone has te same base of players in their teams. makes it a bit boring! wish defensive midfielders were rewarded in this game

the only skill now is going to be picking captains!

Simple - Ronaldo practically every time apart from when Man U are playing a fellow big-four
They should price Ronaldo at minimum €20m next year - would make it a bit more interesting

Ah not really, there's still skill (and a heap of luck) involved with picking a team.

Henry used to cost 14m too. Only difference between the two players is that with Ronaldo being a midfielder you get so much more points with him scoring a goal. Maybe he should cost around the 15 or 16 mark. You could still pick a decent enough team around that but it'd level it off a bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,568 ✭✭✭thewools

Brought in Boltons - Gardner this week for the injured Alex, he is down as a defender but has been playing left wing lately. Looked lively when he came on Vs Liverpool.

He should regain a spot in the starting 11 Vs boro this weekend too hopefully..

Have almost 2mill to spare now - planning to bring back Adebayor the week after they play Chelsea... thats the plan!

Not many will bring him back I reckon so might help me somewhat

Honestly, I'd give players bonues for choosing different captains each week. Either that, or I'd class Ronaldo as a striker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,714 ✭✭✭✭Earthhorse

I still think the solution to the Ronaldo problem (or the Henry problem a few year's ago) is to give a multiple of only 1.5 to the captain. This essentially rewards team performance over an individual's performance, whereas currently too much bias is given toward the individual.

And yes, they need to find a way to reward defensive minded midfielders; maybe introduce a tackles stat similar to saves for goalies

Team value with the above team is 105.7m and im gonna keep .5m as cash for weekly rotations

I would got rid of Zaki and Lampard - Lampard is after an unbelievable start thus his price is now over-inflated and Deco is back in the team.
Plus how is someone supposed to gain ground when everyone has Lampard in midfield with everyone scoring the same weekly points - i hope everyone keeps him and i can watch my strikers bang in the goals.

    Bosingwa Agger Steinsson

    Delap Ronaldo Lampard Valencia Geovani

    Defoe Zaki

Cunning on the Lampard thing - might use this especially given all of Chelsea's midfielders are nearly fit again. Also I cant see Chelsea continuing to score such big wins i.e I think they might be due a couple of one-nil wins as opposed to the five-nil ones which will cut down on Lampard's points.

Here's how my team is looking this week:

    FantasyTeam201108.jpg

Only just put Geovanni in for this weekend as Fab is injured (I know he's not getting the points like last season but I'm sure he's gonna come good... isnt he? :o)

Next week SWP will be out for Fab, then probably Deco out the week after as he's done sweet f*** all since coming back for injury.

Not sure about Lampard but Defoe is set to start as Adams has said today he is only suffering from cramp. Berbatov's agent says he will miss the Villa game so it looks like he'll be out. Some reports have suggested he'll miss up to 3 games as it's some sort of thigh strain.

    Hmm,

    Ronaldo had internationals in Brazil,

Lamps is injured- kinda hard to pick a captain this week.

I'm going to punt with Ronaldo just because it's a late kick off at 5.30. I'm tempted for Bosingwa though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 742 ✭✭✭Loco

Could be a low score week with all these injuries / internationals / long haul flights during the week!

    My bench sucks too!

    Team for the weekend:

    Reina
    Boswina Agger Arbeloa
    Ronaldo Lampard Ireland Delap
    Anelka Zaki Bent

    Schwarzer Marney McShane Paintsil

    Will decide captain later!
