to me you need to set your team out as follows

midfielders 2/3 strong

defenders/goalies 3/4 strong

forwards 1 with others chipping in.

people make the mistake of forwards been strong.

1 clean sheet equals a goal for a forward

It isn't that simple though. If they concede one silly goal that's it, the most they can achieve is 2-3 points. On a day like today it makes sense to have strong defenders, but next week there could be a few 3-2s and the strikers are gonna be the points scorers

Tbh, I don't think anyone could've predicted Fulham's result against Liverpool. I also have Hangeland on my bench. :rolleyes:

I've Ireland and Turner on the bench, who between them scored more than my other 10 who've played combined. :mad:

The backs got all the points for me really. Steinsson was a great buy.
And of course Stephen Ireland performs again.

Had a good week despite Ronaldo not getting much. One area that really let me down are my 3 strikers - Zaki, Bent and Defoe, only got 2 points total so far. I was thinking about re-arranging my strikers, anyone got any ideas? Should I keep Defoe and Zaki?

I was keen to use a transfer last week but decided against as there was no obvious change. I think alot of preople change for the sake of changing..Going to keep in simple from here on in

50 possibly rising to 59 with subs coming in. Meh.

All 4 subs can come in if needed. And yes you can have 5 defenders.

Nah as many subs as needed, as long as all of your subs played. So if you had three players in your first XI that didn't play, and three subs who did, then all three will step up (or four if you inculde keepers). And you can have 5 defenders. The only rules with formations is that you must have at least one striker, and no less than 3 defenders (and no less than 2 midfielders).

Actually glad Zaki isn't playing, I have Garrido as second sub with 6 points to come on alongside 8 point Sidibe who replaces Berbatov. If Cahill can nick a goal or three I should break the 60 point mark which wouldn't be the worst this week.

Interesting that they are 2 defenders coming in for 2 strikers. I going to have a rethink going forward as there seems to be more value in having a solid defence

Well the 2 Defenders will only come on for the 2 Strikers if you have another Striker playing. You have to fulfill a minimum amount of players in each position having at least 1 Goalkeeper (obviously!) 3 Defenders 3 Midfielders & 1 Forward.

The problem with dropping Zaki is that you'll never be able to get him back in. I bought him at 6m, he's now something like 7.1m but would only get 6.5m if I sold him. Not a lot out there for 6.5m. Martins, maybe, at 6.8 but its always risky having any Newcatle player in your team.

Will it auto make it 2 - 5 - 3

or will it bring in my 2nd sub , (l young)

I have never seen a team 2 - 5 - 3 after a week

I already made one transfer this weeks - A Traore out - Bosingwa in.. Still have $$$$$ to spent

This gameweek has really made me look at my pityful defence... Have Agger and Bosingwa now as 2 rocks and have 3 other dodgy selections..

Will wait until later on in the week regarding Defoe.. Still no confirmation re his injury and operation
